55 Reasons We Love Papa

On Friday I shared a few Father’s Day Gift Ideas with you.

I thought we would try the one of those craft projects (me… crafting… no way!).

It looked like the jar filled with reasons why you loved someone was a cute and simple project.

I decided that we would do 55 Reasons We Love Papa. Papa is my dad.

We chose 55 reasons as he turned 55 this year. Shh… I didn’t tell you that!

Jar of Love

And inside the jar written on the coloured strips of paper are the 55 Reasons We Love Papa. Each one of us provided our own reasons why we love him but we all feel the same way about all of the reasons.Sitting on top of the jar is an adorable little head that when you water it, it will grow “hair” (grass).

Little Man (2 years old):
Because he loves me.
He is a great grandpa.
He likes to show me how to do things.
He comes to my birthday parties.
He is talented.
He stops by to visit us sometimes.
He likes to go camping.
He lets us feed the ducks.
He has a canoe.
He gives the best hugs.
He lets us visit his new house.
He has cool tools.
He gives fun gifts.
He likes to play with us.

Big Boy (6 years old):
Because he loves me.
He showed me the sawmill.
He is cool.
He is smart.
He is funny.
He gives us boat rides.
He comes to watch me play soccer and hockey.
He lets us have treats.
He lets me ride in his big truck (sawmill semi).
He gives me quad rides.
He makes us supper sometimes.
He has a nice dog.
He has a big truck (sawmill semi).
He is an awesome grandpa.

Husband:
He is well liked by everyone who meets him.
He is adventurous.
He is the best father-in-law.
He is a great family man.
He treats me as a member of the family.
He takes us out for supper on occasion.
He is dedicated and a hard worker.
He never says anything negative about anyone.
He is always positive.
He is a great builder and very creative.
He is honest.
He is generous.
He is great with our children.
He played a part in creating my wonderful wife.

And myself:
He has a great smile.
He loves me no matter what.
He is always there for me.
He is a good listener.
He taught me so many important lessons.
He likes to listen to good music.
He is fun to travel with.
He took us on great family trips.
He stayed with us even though his life wasn’t easy.
He made sure we had happy memories.
He is very intelligent.
He can do anything.
He supports me in whatever I do.
He isn’t afraid to try new things.

Disclaimer: I *may have* written most of these sentiments.
Although, Big Boy did help me out with his reasons as well as a few of Little Man’s.
On Wednesday I will share what we created for my husband for Father’s Day.

Such a cute idea! I'm going to do this for my Mom with my boys; they'll have so much fun sharing their reasons with me! (I may go for a number a little less ambitious than 55 though! LOL)

Beautiful gift that holds a whole lot of sentiment. What did your Dad think of the gift? I would have bawled. Hehe. ;)

Aww! I am scared to phone him to see what his reaction is. He is a hard person to get things out of. hehe!

I think we'll have to do one for my step-mom now. hehe! Not sure what he thinks yet, I need to call him to see. But he tends not to say too much about "deep" things. hehe!
