Funkins Review: A Fun Reusable Napkin for Kids

Categories:Kids, Review

One day my husband decided to try to help me promote my blog. So, he shared one of my current posts on his personal Facebook wall.

A few hours later I received a wonderful email in my inbox. It was from Funkins Founder, Lisa Baumgartner! It turns out that Lisa is married to an old friend of my husbands!

Lisa wrote that she really enjoyed reading my blog and that she would love to send my son’s a few of her Funkin napkins. It was such a generous offer that I could not pass it up!

I immediately went to the Funkins website and cruised the selection dedicated to boys. There are nine themes to choose from. Trying to decide on what patterns to choose was difficult to say the least. All of them are so adorable and fun (pun intended)!

In the end, I decided that my boys would best like the hockey, dinosaur, robot, or monkey Funkins. To my astonishment, Lisa sent them all!

Look how cute they are!

And here is my dining room table decked out in Funkins napkins!

These napkins can not only be used as napkins, but they are big enough to also be used as place mats! How neat and ingenious is that?

Funkins are made of 100% cotton and use low impact dyes. They measure 13″x15″ and feature patterns on both sides.

The best feature of these napkins is that they are reusable! The idea to create Funkins came to Lisa when her oldest child started school. The school indicated to all parents that they wanted to reduce school lunch waste and Lisa began to search for reusable napkins. However, she could not find any. So, she started making her own!

Simply throw the Funkins in the washer and they are good as new to use again and again. Such a great way to help out the environment.

These napkins would make a great addition to your child’s lunch box. I almost wish my son ate lunch at school so that he could show off these fun napkins to his friends. I am sure they would want their own as well.

You can personalize the napkin by writing your child’s name on the tag. If your child happens to leave his/her Funkin behind, hopefully it will make it’s way back to him/her.

This is simply brilliant! We travel a lot with the kiddos and this would come in handy for restaurants. Or resort buffet lunches!! Oh where were these when the kiddos were eating finger foods. :) I would love these for my carry on to cover the tray at snack time. So many great uses for these. Thanks for sharing. My kids schools are going more and more towards litterless lunches too. Will be looking at the website!

They definitely would be great for restaurants! I have put a couple in our “diaper” bag (I use my Lug tote now instead of a reg diaper bag) for when we are out and about!
