Staples Home Office #MakeMoreMakeover
Why do I need a Staples #MakeMoreMakeover?
See my picture below!
My “home office” is located in the area of the house that I refer to as the “deep dark dungeon” (better known as the basement). My computer and desk are situated in the corner of our small recreation room where a majority of my children’s toys currently reside. (See right hand side of the picture for evidence of the invasion of toys into the office space.)
As you can see I do not have much room to play with down in my little office space. Which is why I tend to not even bother to go down there anymore. It’s quite plain and well, just boring. It’s not a very inviting space to work in.
Plus, the fabulous new printer takes up a lot of the working area of the desk. I need to figure out a more appropriate spot for it.
If I were to win the #MakeOverMakeover from Staples Canada, here are a few items I would put on my wish list.
How cute is this corner desk? It would be perfect for my needs. I love that it has drawers and closed doors for storage (which is what my current desk is lacking). Plus, it would also have ample working space should I need to do some paperwork. If the printer wouldn’t fit on top of this desk (the highest shelf) I would also get a small, two drawer filing cabinet from Staples to put next to the desk so that printer could sit on top of it.
Everyone needs a calendar in their office. They are great tools to keep your work deadlines and appointments organized as well as keep track of your kid’s numerous extra curricular activities. I love dry erase calendars because if appointments are cancelled or rescheduled you can easily wipe off the item and change as needed without making a big mess on your calendar.
To add a wee bit of personality and colour to my desk area I would add this cute bulletin board. I could pin ideas that come to mind, inspirational quotes and pictures of my kids to help bring a smile to my face.
How gorgeous is this chair from Staples? If I have a client over for a business meeting this would be the perfect chair for them to feel comfortable in my office. (Sure beats the ugly stacking stools I currently use.)
This line of desk top accessories from Martha Stewart would help me keep my desktop neat and tidy. I just love the colour punch it brings to the whole space. Finally I would have a place for my pens, pencils, stapler, external hard-drives and USB sticks, etc.
Now, this is a dream item for me. I have been lusting after the Microsoft Windows Surface tablet since the original debuted a few years ago. This tablet, along with its keyboard/cover, would be the ideal companion for me. I would be able to take my work on the go as I use the Microsoft Office programs constantly for various projects I am working on. Plus, it would be awesome to take it for blogging on the go.
What would your dream office look like?
