Another Week With Shakeology
Well, my second week of making healthy changes has now passed.
To refresh your memory my goals for this past week were as follows:
- take a walk for 30-60 minutes at least four days this week
- modify my eating habits
- try again to go to bed earlier
- and drink more water
I went out for a few walks – in the rain no less – on my own with my iPod in tow. It was very refreshing. Then, a couple days later I asked Little Man to join me for a leisurely stroll. We walked towards Big Boy’s school and Big Boy happened to be playing outside for recess or gym class so we got to visit for a little while. Then, we walked all the way to our local SPCA and took some time to visit with the cats and dogs waiting for their furever homes.
I tried to watch what I was eating a little more strictly especially during the evenings as that is when I get the snacking bug. I am planning to research clean eating a little more and see if that is something I can implement into my lifestyle in the coming weeks.
I made sure to stay hydrated! I drank at least 6 glasses of water each day, sometimes even more! I did lose around a pound this week between moving more and watching what I put into my body.
Along with trying to achieve the goals above I continued to use Shakeology shakes. Unfortunately, my experience with using Shakeology did not get any better this past week. I decided to shake things up and made the shakes a couple different ways. I consulted with my coach and she said she drinks the Chocolate Shakeology with just water. So, I mixed an entire packet of Chocolate Shakeology with some cold tap water and tried to drink it down. Again, I was not a fan of the taste and texture. Since I seem to like the Greenberry Shakeology out of all of the rest for the next few days I blended an entire packet of the greenberry flavour with only water and frozen fruit and I was still not enjoying it.
In the middle of the week I contacted my coach and apologized to her. I just could not continue using the products. She was very understanding. She told me that the shakes are not for everyone and that is OK. What works for someone else just may not work for you. And how very true that was for me in this instance.
A positive thing that I noticed this past week was that my energy levels were starting to increase and my mood was lifting. Now, I am not sure if this was due to the shakes or because I was getting outside more or both. I just know that I had had a really good week and felt good about the changes I was making.
Do you plan on making any health related changes to your lifestyle? If you have already, what have you changed?
