The Busy Family Back-To-School Toolkit for the HP Photosmart 7520 Printer #HPCanada #HP #Printables

The first week of school is almost over. Did everyone survive?

Big Boy is enjoying being in Grade Four so far. A lot of his friends from last year and over his school career are in the same classroom as he is. That makes it easy to transition for him. However, it has been a wee bit more difficult for Little Man. He had his first day (or morning as Kindergarten is only half days here in Manitoba) on Wednesday. He refused to get dressed, eat his breakfast, brush his teeth, etc. Actually, he has basically refused to do so every morning. He is adamant he is not going to school each and every day. “No school, just hockey!” he keeps telling me.

Luckily, we have made it to Little Man’s classroom each day so far. A few tears have been shed and not just on his end. It is extremely hard to leave him when he is like that but the teacher gently pries him off of me and then, I am able to sneak away. The teacher reassured me that within about two minutes of me leaving, he is just fine. So, that makes me feel better.

We all know how hectic back-to-school time can be. Getting used to old routines and new can be overwhelming. HP Printables can make the transition a wee bit easier (along with a strong cup of coffee or tea!).

HP Printables Menu Planner

To get the back-to-school week off to a good start I used the 7 Day Menu Planner app on my HP Photosmart 7520 to print out a week’s worth of recipes for my family to enjoy. You can have this nifty three page menu sent to your printer each and every week. The menu even comes complete with a shopping list to take the guesswork out of it and will save you a whack load of time! Be sure to check it out! How good do those chili chocolate brownie’s look in the picture?!?! Mmm, chocolate.

HP Printables Mind Tools

Another favourite app of mine is the Management Toolkit by Mind Tools. Here you can find printables on how to develop your leadership, learning and career skills as well as how to effectively manage your time and stress. The sheets I chose to print out was called “Energizing Yourself: Powering Through Your Day” which details what can cause low energy and offers up tips, long term and short term solutions, on how to overcome fatigue. For example, some short term solutions to energizing yourself include using light, taking a walk, and rehydrating yourself. I will be using this app frequently!

HP Printables Better Homes and Gardens

Many of you know I am not the crafty type but that does not mean I am not interested in trying out the odd craft project or two. The Better Homes and Gardens app on my HP Photosmart 7520 is a great resource for crafts, tips on home decor and home improvement as well as gardening and even adds in some recipes!

HP Printables Lunch Notes

My kids do not have lunch at school but I want to share the cute little app called Lunch Notes I found for my printer. It prints out adorably decorated notes that you can send with your kid back-to-school. Place them in your children’s lunch boxes for a sweet surprise for your little ones. This almost makes me wish that my kids did have lunch at their school!

HP Printables Kid Planner Calendar

A handy and free HP Printable I found online was a back to school calendar. This is an ideal printable for busy families who need a way to keep track of where and when appointments are, what time hockey practice or piano lessons are, and what days school is closed for PD days or holidays. I love that it has a section for upcoming projects and a place to write down what supplies are needed. This is a fantastic tool to help get your children in back-to-school mode!

One last app that will help you with your back-t0-school schedule I want to tell you about is the Calendar app. You can log into your Google account via your HP Photosmart 7520 and the app and from there you can print out your daily, weekly or monthly calendar! Do not miss an appointment again because you forgot to check your digital calendar!

Be sure to use HP’s eco-friendly printer paper and after you have used all of these great printables, please recycle the papers whenever and wherever you can! Each app lets you choose to either “browse and print” or to schedule printing. You can have your printables print daily or weekly (at your own convenience). Your items will automatically print out for you. Further, you can download the HP Printables app to your smartphone and you can select and send your printables straight to your printer from your phone.

Be sure to check out www.hp.ca/printables for more great resources for you and your family to use.
