My Favourite Reads
I love to read. This isn’t news to anyone. I used to love reading books and still do. However, I find myself reading more and more content online. It can be anything from blogs, online newsletters, online news websites, parent focused websites, so on and so on. If you were to log into my laptop or see my browser on my cell phone, I will probably have about 20 tabs or windows open up in each at any point in time.
I also use an app to bookmark my favourite blogs to read. I try to make it into the app at least once a week to read and/or comment on as many blogs as I can. Now that I am participating in #NaBloPoMo, I have even more places to visit and read.
It can be a wee bit overwhelming. There are so many great things out there to read and not enough time!
At a conference I attended it was suggested that we read more than we write. And I am living this truth every day.
Today, I want to share with you some of the great things I have been reading online. I hope you enjoy them just as much as I do. I might try to do this feature each week. Like a good friend of mine says, “sharing is caring.”
I found this writer through the #NaBloPoMo link up at Blogher. Her tale is hilarious. Everyone should give it a read.
My friend Peady shares a recipe for a make your own pizza she made for herself during her family’s weekly Friday Family Fun Night. Can you believe it? It has no crust! I don’t know if I could go without crust but I may give this recipe a try soon!
Ever wonder what we people who love and live our lives in social media are all about, read Jenn’s piece! She also wrote another post this week about the anger flooding through Facebook and other social media sites. Definitely recommend reading these two posts.
Heather’s writing on the loss of her son really tugs at my heartstrings. I wish I could help her and her family somehow, someway. She has a great way with words and is very wise. She is guiding her three boys (yes, I am including Zackie because he will always be with them even if he is not physically here) as best she can through this crazy world. And in light of everything that has taking place in the news regarding a certain Canadian radio host, she shared a piece she wrote about earlier this year on how she handled a situation with her oldest when he asked her what the world RAPE means.
I have been reading this bloggers blog for some time now. I am not a runner, triathloner (is that even a word) or even an athlete but this writer proves that you can be if you really work at it. Now she can say she is an Ironman! In this post she reflects on her Ironman experience and how she took Big Fluffy along. It seems like no matter what we accomplish, there is still something that will always try to bring us down.
I am so glad to have found this new to be blogger through #NaBloPoMo. In this post she writes about her love of writing when she was a child and teen. I look forward to reading her future posts.
Have you found any great reads lately? If you have, please share below in the comments! I look forward to reading. I better go as Little Man has been begging for lunch since 10:30am and it is now noon. Have a great Sunday!
